Biography

Cornelia Horsford pursued archaeology with a pioneering spirit, carrying forward the work of her father while charting her own path among historians and explorers. She explored early accounts of Norse visitors to the New World, carefully documenting artifacts and oral traditions to bring new perspectives to the public.

Her lectures and writings inspired many to see the region’s past with fresh eyes, and she welcomed collaborations with scholars and neighbors alike. Horsford is buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery, where her thoughtful curiosity continues to inspire admirers.
