Biography

Cuthbert W. Pound earned a reputation as a calm and thoughtful jurist after his early career in the New York bar, service on the Supreme Court, and later elevation to the Court of Appeals, where he wrote opinions that helped steer commerce and civil liberties during a time of rapid social change.
