Dr. Dan Beach Bradley was a pioneering American missionary and physician who made extraordinary contributions to Thailand throughout his long life. Born in 1804, he arrived in Bangkok and became instrumental in establishing medical care and Christian education in the kingdom, earning respect from both Thai authorities and the foreign community.
Bradley's legacy encompasses his work as a missionary, physician, and educator who helped modernize medical practice in Siam. He established schools, introduced printing technology, and provided medical services to the Thai people regardless of their faith. His 69 years of dedicated service culminated in his death in 1873, and he was honored with burial at Bangkok Protestant Cemetery, a testament to his significant impact on Thailand's development.
