David Brooks

Biography

David Brooks was a resident of Poughkeepsie who lived through the formative years of the United States. Born in 1756, he witnessed the American Revolution and the establishment of the new nation during his long life in the Hudson Valley.

Brooks passed away in 1838 at an advanced age, having seen the nation grow and develop throughout his lifetime. He was interred in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, where he rests among the community members he knew.
