Biography
David Halberstam (1934-2007) reported on conflicts and culture with the clarity and conscience that earned him a Pulitzer Prize and the respect of colleagues worldwide. From the battlefields of Vietnam to the newsrooms of New York, he never lost his dedication to deep reporting and to telling stories that held those in power accountable.
He also nurtured young journalists by sharing his knowledge and by insisting on rigorous research; he was interred at Prospect Hill Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of fearless inquiry and a love for storytelling.
