David Hume Baker

Biography

David Hume Baker answered the call to service during the American Civil War and stayed with the Army afterward, helping to rebuild the force and supporting young officers as they faced new technological and organizational challenges.

He remained engaged with veteran affairs and civic efforts until his death, and Arlington National Cemetery holds his remains among fellow servants of the nation.
