Lovell Rousseau was a distinguished military officer and statesman who served both in the Union Army and in Congress. Born in 1818, he demonstrated leadership in both military and civilian capacities, contributing to the nation during and after the Civil War era.
General Rousseau's dual career reflected his commitment to public service in multiple forms. His military service and subsequent congressional representation earned him recognition, and he was honored with burial at Arlington National Cemetery upon his death in 1869.
