Biography

David Ruggles was born in 1810 and dedicated his life to the cause of human freedom and dignity. As an abolitionist, he stood courageously against the institution of slavery and worked tirelessly to advance the cause of justice and equality.

Ruggles passed away in 1849 and was interred at Yantic Cemetery. His legacy as a champion of human rights and freedom continues to inspire and guide those who believe in the principles for which he fought.
