Biography

Dennis Conlan answered the call to serve during the Civil War, standing among the loyal sons who defended the Union when the nation was torn apart. His steadfastness in camp and on the march made him a trusted comrade, and he earned the admiration of his brothers-in-arms for the quiet courage he displayed in the face of danger.

After the guns fell silent, Conlan returned to civilian life carrying the discipline and tenderness he had learned amid conflict, always mindful of the veterans who shared in those trials. He lies at Calvary Cemetery as a reminder of the many ordinary men whose sacrifice preserved the Union.
