Dennison Wheelock

Dennison Wheelock, a proud member of the Oneida Nation, used his talents as a musician, bandleader, and advocate to bring Native American voices into broader American cultural life. He conducted the famed Carlisle Indian School Band, led concert tours, and worked tirelessly to promote greater understanding between communities.

Beyond his musical achievements, Wheelock remained devoted to his people, championing education and civil rights while nurturing younger generations who sought to honor their heritage in a changing world.
