Biography

Dudley Weldon Woodard broke barriers as one of the earliest African-American mathematicians, earning his doctorate and returning to teach at Howard University, where he built the department and mentored countless students who would go on to trust their own academic ambitions. His research and pedagogy emphasized clarity, rigor, and the idea that mathematics should be accessible to every earnest student.
