Edmund Colhoun

Biography

Born in 1821, Edmund Colhoun dedicated his adult life to the United States Navy, rising through the ranks to Rear Admiral and guiding blockading squadrons and training sailors during the Civil War and its aftermath.

He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, where the gravestones along Arlington Ridge testify to his steady leadership and the naval tradition he represented for a grateful nation.
