Eduard Berzin was a Latvian-born Soviet politician born in 1894 who served in various governmental and security roles during the early Soviet period. He was involved in significant political and administrative functions during a complex era of Soviet history.
Berzin was executed in 1938 and his remains were disposed of at Kommunarka shooting ground, a victim of the political purges that characterized the late 1930s in the Soviet Union.
