Biography

Edward W. Wynkoop served as an Army officer and Indian agent, striving to ease tensions on the frontier and to ensure fair treatment for Native peoples during a turbulent era.

He was honored for his pursuit of justice and the compassion he showed to soldiers and civilians alike, and he now rests in Santa Fe National Cemetery with the honors due his service.
