Edwin May

Biography

Edwin May (1823–1880) was an architect whose designs helped define Indiana's civic architecture, including the state capitol he planned with attention to both grandeur and practicality.

His work continues to welcome generations of Hoosiers, and his grave at Crown Hill Cemetery invites reflection on the structures and communities he helped build.
