Biography

Elim Meshchersky (1808–1844) was a poet whose literary works contributed to Russian Romantic literature during the early 19th century. Though his life was tragically brief, his poetic voice resonated with the artistic sensibilities of his generation, engaging with themes of emotion, nature, and the human condition that defined the Romantic movement.

Meshchersky's burial in Kazanskoe cemetery in Pushkin reflects the esteem in which he was held by his literary community. His thirty-six years of life, though short, left a cultural legacy that endured beyond his untimely death.
