Biography

Eliphalet Dyer rose from Windham County to become a trusted lawyer, militia officer, and delegate during the Revolution, bringing calm counsel to the Continental Congress and to Connecticut's general assembly as the new nation took shape.

After the war he presided over Hartford County courts, guided the adoption of fair laws, and remained a stalwart presence in Windham Center, advising younger lawyers and keeping a steady hand on civic life until his passing.
