Biography
Elisha Hinman (1734–1807) was a man of the late colonial and early American periods whose life spanned more than seven decades of transformative change in American history. He witnessed the transition from colonial rule through the Revolutionary War to the establishment of the republic.
Hinman's burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery reflects his standing in his community. His long life provided perspective on the dramatic changes that occurred during the founding era of the United States.
