Elizabeth Lownes Rust

Biography

Elizabeth Lownes Rust, born in 1835, devoted her life to charitable service and to nurturing the friendships and faith communities that helped many Cincinnati families navigate the challenges of the nineteenth century.

Through quiet labors and thoughtful hospitality she brought comfort to the weary, and when she passed in 1899 she returned to the city she loved in eternal rest at Spring Grove Cemetery.
