Biography
Elmina Shepard Taylor (1830–1904) dedicated herself to nurturing the spiritual lives of young women, serving as the first general president of the Young Ladies’ Mutual Improvement Association and opening wide the door for their continued growth. Her leadership brought orderly purpose and gentle encouragement to countless hearts across the growing Relief Society.
She now rests at Salt Lake City Cemetery, where the ideals she championed continue to bloom in the lives of generations guided by her example.
