Biography
Emily Dow Partridge, born in 1824, devoted her life to the Latter-day Saint community as it moved from Nauvoo to the Salt Lake Valley. She supported fellow pioneers through periods of trial and joy, offering hospitality, care for the sick, and teachings that strengthened the women around her.
Her home became a place of warmth for new arrivals, and she nurtured children of the valley as they learned to adapt to this high desert home. Emily died in 1899, leaving behind the memory of a compassionate soul whose humility and faith remained constant throughout the decades of gathering.
