Enos Warren Persons

Biography

Enos Warren Persons was born in 1836 and became known throughout Greenwood for his thoughtful leadership and the care he gave to every new schoolhouse, road, and public gathering that helped the village flourish. He believed that a community advanced when its residents supported one another, and he welcomed newcomers with the same warmth he extended to lifelong friends.

He poured his energies into the institutions that nurtured young people, the businesses that provided honest livelihoods, and the quiet acts of kindness that made Greenwood a true home. He rests at Greenwood Cemetery, where the friendships he forged continue to be celebrated by all who recall his generosity.
