Erastus S. Prosser

Biography

Erastus S. Prosser (1809–1887) became a prominent Buffalo businessman whose investments in trade, transportation, and insurance helped fuel the city’s expansion along the Erie Canal.

Prosser also lent time to local philanthropic endeavors that aided hospitals and schools, and he now lies in the company of other civic leaders at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
