Biography

F. Benedict Herzog came of age as New York City expanded into a global metropolis, and he met those changes with a generous spirit and steady devotion to the civic organizations that sustained his neighbors. Friends recall him as a gentle presence who offered encouragement and quiet support whenever occasion demanded.

When he passed in 1912, he left behind family and colleagues who treasured his calm counsel, and his remains were laid to rest in the peaceful company of Woodlawn Cemetery.
