Biography

Fairfax Harrison guided the Southern Railway at a time of great change, bringing technical skill and thoughtful stewardship to the work of keeping trains running safely and on time.

He also cherished the stories of the past, writing about the region and supporting historic preservation so that future generations could understand how the present had been built.
