Biography

Fëdor Ivanovič Engel (1769–1837) was a Russian military officer whose career extended across the transformative period spanning the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He served during an era marked by significant military campaigns, including the Napoleonic Wars and the consolidation of Russian imperial power.

Engel's military service reflected his commitment to the defense and advancement of the Russian state. His long life allowed him to witness and participate in the major military and political events of his era. He was honored with burial at Volkovo Cemetery, where many distinguished military and civil figures of St. Petersburg were laid to rest.
