Floyd Bennett was a Navy aviator whose daring spirit carried him to the edges of the known world, culminating in the historic polar flight with Admiral Richard Byrd that captured the public imagination. Though his life was brief, Bennett’s courage and wit left a lasting impression on naval aviation and exploration, inspiring others to push beyond the horizon. He is honored at Arlington National Cemetery where he lies among fellow pioneers of flight.
