Biography
Francis Thomas-Fitzmaurice, 3rd Earl of Kerry, carried the responsibilities of his Irish title with steadfast regard for the welfare of his tenants and the preservation of the estates he oversaw. He was attentive to the customs of his country and strove to bring a measured voice to discussions of reforms affecting the land.
In private he was remembered for his warm hospitality and thoughtful counsel, traits that endeared him to friends across the Isles. His burial in Westminster Abbey honors a peer who valued duty and humanity in equal measure.
