Biography

François Faber burst onto the international cycling scene with a combination of daring and endurance that carried him to the top of the sport, including a memorable victory in the Tour de France. Off the road, he was known as a generous and tenacious competitor, respected by rivals and fans alike.

When the First World War called, he joined the fight and paid the ultimate price in 1915; Notre Dame de Lorette National Cemetery now shelters his remains alongside fellow athletes and soldiers who also left the world too soon.
