Biography
Frank M. Chapman (1864–1945) was a pioneering American naturalist and ornithologist who helped broaden public appreciation for birds through his work with the American Museum of Natural History and as the founder of Bird-Lore magazine.
He inspired generations of birdwatchers with his writing and advocacy for sanctuaries, and his lifelong commitment to conservation is recalled by those who visit his grave at Brookside Cemetery.
