Biography

Frank Selee's leadership and calm demeanor made him one of baseball's premier managers around the turn of the century. He forged winning habits with the Boston Beaneaters, later guiding the Chicago Orphans, and he took pride in developing disciplined players who understood the value of teamwork.

He retired from the dugout in the early 1900s but remained a respected voice in the sport until his death in 1909; his final resting place is Wyoming Cemetery where admirers remember the strategic mind that helped shape early professional baseball.
