František Petráš

Biography

František Petráš was born in 1897 and died in 1984, living through the dramatic transformations of the twentieth century. His life began in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and extended through the independence, occupation, and communist periods of Czechoslovakia.

Petráš embodied the experiences of those who witnessed the collapse of empires and the emergence of new nations. He is remembered among those interred at Olšany Cemetery, a place of honor for many figures of his era.
