František Pilař

Biography

František Pilař was born in 1866 and lived through the final decades of the Austro-Hungarian Empire as well as the entire span of the Czechoslovak state's existence. His remarkably long life provided a living bridge between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in Central Europe.

Pilař passed away in 1952 at an advanced age and was interred in Vinohrady Cemetery in Prague, where he rests among the many who shaped and experienced Prague's cultural and social history during this transformative era.
