Gates P. Thruston

Biography

Gates P. Thruston, who came into the world in 1835, saw a nation through great change and did so with quiet dignity. He was known for his thoughtful counsel and the calm assurance he brought to every endeavor.

When he passed in 1912, his many friends gathered to celebrate a life well lived, and he now rests in Mount Olivet Cemetery where generations pause to remember his gentle service.
