George Edmund Badger

Biography

George Edmund Badger, born in 1795, brought a thoughtful and measured voice to the legal and political affairs of North Carolina, serving at the national level in the United States Senate where he defended his state's interests with dignity.

He also remained engaged at home, nurturing civic institutions and encouraging the study of law so that future generations might approach public life with the same integrity that marked his own career until his passing in 1866.
