George Henry Palmer

Biography

George Henry Palmer entered the Union Army as an artilleryman in 1861, serving through pivotal battles where his cool leadership in the field carried batteries through searing combat.

He remained in uniform after the war, helping to train artillery crews and oversee ordnance matters, and upon his death was honored with interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
