Biography

George M. Coyte devoted much of his life to the practical affairs that kept communities flourishing, from local enterprise to charitable undertakings. He was admired for his calm, thoughtful manner and for the way he could bring people together through reasoned discussion.

Coyte’s steady hand and generous counsel helped guide many through personal and civic crossroads. His presence was a source of comfort, and when he passed in 1918, the community honored him for the sincerity and kindness he modeled throughout his life.
