George Ropes

Biography

George Ropes was a young man whose life was cut short in the early nineteenth century. Born in 1788, he came of age in the young American republic and represented the generation born after independence was secured.

Ropes passed away in 1819 at the age of thirty-one and was laid to rest in Howard Street Burial Ground. Though his life was brief, he lived during a period of growth and development in the expanding United States.
