Biography
George Walker made his livelihood as a novelist and essayist, drafting brisk tales of adventure and rural life that appeared in magazines and delighted readers looking for spirited diversion.
He also contributed translations and articles that reflected his keen interest in the manners of his day, sustaining a presence in London literary circles until he died in 1847 and was laid to rest in Highgate Cemetery.
