Biography

Born into the storied Fish family in 1888, Hamilton Fish III served as a U.S. Representative from New York for a quarter century after distinguishing himself as an officer in World War I, and he became known for staunch support of national defense, veterans, and fiscal responsibility. He carried his sense of duty into every debate on the floor of Congress.
