Biography

Hamilton K. Wheeler, born in 1848, dedicated himself to public affairs with integrity and a steady sense of purpose. He valued open conversation and earned the trust of those he represented by listening attentively and acting with foresight.

Even after leaving formal duties, Wheeler remained a valued advisor, encouraging young leaders to remain true to their principles. He was laid to rest in Mound Grove Cemetery, where his thoughtful approach to leadership is still recalled.
