Biography

Hans Katan was drawn into the resistance by a fierce conviction that every individual deserved dignity and liberty. He engaged with underground networks that sheltered those fleeing persecution and worked to maintain vital lines of communication among cells.

Hans’s empathy for others was matched by his determination, and he is remembered as someone who worked tirelessly to help keep the resistance cohesive. His resting place at the Dutch Honorary Cemetery Bloemendaal stands as a tribute to a life given for the freedom of his country.
