Biography

Harvey D. Parker gained renown for founding Boston’s Parker House, creating a hospitable landmark that welcomed travelers and established a new standard for gracious lodging throughout the city.

Beyond his business acumen he contributed to civic charities and mentored younger hoteliers, and after his passing in 1884 his remains were set to rest in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
