Biography
Hastings Keith, born in 1915, answered his country’s call during World War II before returning to Massachusetts to serve in the state legislature and, beginning in 1961, in the U.S. House of Representatives. During his nearly two decades in Congress he championed national security, veterans’ issues, and responsible governance while building respectful relationships across party lines.
After leaving Washington, he remained active in civic life, offering wise counsel to local leaders and continuing to serve the people of his region with the same steady professionalism that marked his public career. His thoughtful approach to difficult issues earned him lasting admiration.
