Hedge Thompson

Biography

Hedge Thompson was born in 1780 and died in 1828 at the age of forty-eight, his life lived during the early decades of the American republic. He witnessed the nation's transition from the revolutionary period into its early years of independence and growth.

Thompson was buried in St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, reflecting the religious traditions and community connections that were central to life in early nineteenth-century America. His relatively brief life was nonetheless lived during a period of significant national development and change.
