Biography
Hedwig Catharina von Krogh (1739–1818) was a lady of refinement and quiet leadership, whose Danish home welcomed artists and thinkers and whose thoughtful patronage kept the blossoming cultural life of Copenhagen vibrant; her memory is honored among the citizens laid to rest in Assistens Cemetery.
Her generosity extended to gentle acts of charity and to the support of women and children in need, and she became a symbol of gracious service in a time when solid character sustained the bonds of community.
