Heinrich Conried

Biography

Born in 1855, Heinrich Conried arrived in the United States as a young immigrant and quickly made his mark in the world of theater, rising from stock companies to manage leading playhouses in New York and beyond before becoming general manager of the Metropolitan Opera.
