Biography

Henriette DeLille was a courageous religious founder whose faith and compassion led her to establish the Sisters of the Holy Family, one of the first orders for free women of color. She dedicated her life to educating children, caring for the sick, and defending the dignity of those on the margins.

Her unwavering devotion to service and to the teachings of Christ continue to inspire countless faithful who honor her memory at Saint Louis Cemetery No. 2.
