Biography

Henry A. du Pont, born in 1838 into a family devoted to industry and innovation, answered the call to service as an Army officer before representing Delaware in the United States Senate with a steady focus on the public good.

He later devoted himself to nurturing educational and philanthropic efforts tied to his family’s legacy, and he is laid to rest with honor at Du Pont de Nemours Cemetery.
