Biography
Captain Henry A. Walke enjoyed a long naval career that began in the age of sail and spanned the Mexican-American War and the Civil War, during which he commanded vessels in challenging blockades and riverine operations.
His experience and steady leadership helped guide the Navy through a time of transformation, and he was laid to rest with honor at Green-Wood Cemetery.
